The Prosecutor’s theory was Vincent killed Carrie to keep her from testifying against him over the assault charge Carrie had filed against Vincent. Carrie alleged Vince threw a space heater at her when she was trying to leave. Vincent said she fell outside his back door and hit her head.
Carrie had told different stories about this incident. She admitted to a nurse at her doctors office she fell and hit her head.
Carrie had confided in Vincent that she was going to drop these charges.
Vincent’s cousin Tony Frazier was spending the night with him and was a witness to what happened.
So, Vincent had no reason to kill Carrie over this.
Carrie had been in a fight at a bar called Annie's. Vincent went with Carrie to develop these pictures even. These pictures were used against him to appear as Vincent caused the black eye.
This is the original missing person's report
made by Debbie Culberson. Here she states that on Monday Vincent held Carrie at gunpoint while on a date for 5 1/2 hours.
Carrie had been working in Wilmington Ohio that day she got off work at 6:00 pm then drove home to Blanchester which took approximately 20 minutes, she would have cleaned up then met up with Vincent approximately leaving around 7:00 pm. They went to eat in Beechmont Ohio, which putting them there and eating they would have left Beechmont around 9:30 pm. Then taking about forty minutes home would have placed them back in Blanchester around the time of 10:15 to 10:30 pm. Carrie states she was home answering a call from Vincent at midnight. So there was no possible way she was held for 5 1/2 hours as claimed.
Regardless the fact Vincent didn't have any guns. The fact that his transmission was messed up in his car, he had no driver's license, so they used Carrie's car as they normally did. Tonya Whitten states Carrie told her that Vincent got a gun out of the trunk of his car they were in, they were in Carrie's car.
The fact Tonya Whitten states Carrie said they rode around after getting back from eating, they wouldn't have done that in Vincent's car.
