Other Possible Suspects

Michael Fogt

Convicted serial killer Michael Fogt lived on McJunkin road in Blanchester Ohio in 1996 when Carrie Culberson disappeared. One of Carrie’s best friends ‘s Julie Long lived next door to Fogt. He lived around the corner from the dig that took place in 2004 where a shirt of Carrie’s, that she had worn a week before and left some place, was found buried. Fogt was associated with the owners of the property that was searched, even stating he worked on motorcycles in the barn that was searched for Carrie.


The Montel Williams talk show had famous Pychic Sylvia Browne on his show. Sylvia told the Culberson family a man and woman were involved in Carrie’s disappearance.


Events in 1998

June  1998  Tracey Baker found guilty. 

June  1998  Fogt shoots Jarrod Messer in the back and charges later get dropped.

June  1998  Lean to was built, where Carrie's shirt was found buried.

July   1998  Fogt kills Martha around this time and moves her body to a property on SR 133.

Aug   1998   Lawrence's trial found not guilty.

Aug   1998   Chief Payton pleads no contest.

Aug   1998   A tip leads a search for Carrie on the same property on SR 133 Fogt had moved Martha's body to. It's possible Martha's body was there at the same time.



June of 1998 the lean to was built next to the barn they searched for Carrie finding the smiley face shirt buried underneath.


June of 1998 Fogt shot the owner of the property, where the search took place, in the back with no charges pressed against him. 


July of 1998 Michael Fogt killed his wife Martha, he put her body in a 55-gallon drum and moved her body twice until burying her under a concrete sidewalk at his parents home. The first place Fogt stored Martha’s body was on a property they had a tip to search for Carrie Culberson, the search happened around the same time Martha’s body was there in the drum.



August of 1998 Blanchester’s Chief Payton and Vincent’s father Lawrence Baker‘s trials were taking place.


Martha’s father stated he believed Fogt killed Martha because she knew something.

Fogt in a documentary stated Martha was a “snitch and was going to snitch.” 

Fogt later killed his girlfriend Cynthia Pickens and buried her body in a garage where he worked.
Fogt is the main suspect in Shane Neuhaus‘s disappearance. Shane’s remains have never been found.

In 2023 Fogt aired in a documentary and at the end he stated he has 20 more bodies.

This official Log from the search at the Fayetteville Blan road property. Here it states the lean to that was built in 1998 was where the smiley face shirt belonging to Carrie Culberson was found buried. 

Michael Fogt’s Bill Of Particulars

This Bill Of Particulars states what transpired with Martha. Michael Fogt moved her body that was in a 55-gallon drum 3 times. One of the locations was on State Route 133. Martha's body could have been at this location at the same time the search for Carrie Culberson was being done in August of 1998 at the same location.

A tip led investigators in August of 1998 to search for Carrie Culberson in this pond on a property located off State Route 133 just south of Blanchester. A deteriorated barrel was the only thing found.

This news article state’s  Michael Fogt shot Jarrod Messer in 1994 that date is wrong it was 1998.
