state's key witness lori baker

Lori Baker was living with Tracey Baker, Vincent’s half-brother. Lori and Tracey had been married then divorced and living together again at the time of Carrie’s disappearance. Lori’s original statement to the police was she did not see Vincent the early morning of August 29th.

Lori changed her statements several times. She alleged that Vincent showed up at her home the early morning hours of August 29th and then left with Tracey. Stating they took a gun and  “ seven” garbage bags. She then testified to them coming back to her homes, taking showers washing blood off. She was given clothes from Tracey to wash.

It wasn’t until the trial did, she state she seen blood on Vincent.
Lori states her sister Vicki stayed the night that evening and Vicki witnessed Vincent standing outside the back door, Vicki stated she could only see the left side of Vincent from the window  and she recognized him by the tattoo on his ” left” shoulder, Vincent tattoo is on his right shoulder.

Lori testified to having a glorious affair with Vincent while living with Tracey his brother. Lori admitted to using drugs and studying WICCAN religion. Lori was upset at Tracey over an affair he had been having.

Christopher Baker the son of Lori and Tracey testified that Vincent was not at their home the early morning of August 29th and that his Aunt Vicki did not stay the night that evening.

The Miami Valley Crime Lab found no DNA evidence to prove any of Lori's testimony.

After Vincent’s trial, Tracey was charged with helping get rid of evidence and went on trial. Clinton County courts allowed Lori to testify against Tracey stating they did not consider them common law spouses. Directly after her testimony the same Courthouse granted Lori a divorce from Tracey acknowledging them as Common law spouses. In return Lori was granted half of all of Tracey’s assets.

Lawrence Baker's trial.

Vicki Watkins Original Statement

All juror's found Lori Baker to not be a credible witness.

Trainscript from Lori Baker’s testimony

Lori testifies that her friend Diana came up with the theory of seven garbage bags for seven body parts. Lori states Diana asked her if she seen blood on Vince and she said no.

But Lori testifies in the trial to seeing blood on Vincent’s chest, arms and legs.

When asked if she seen the garbage bags again she testified she got three back.

Prosecutor Peelle

Prosecutor Peelle moved to strike  the “joke”, “ story” of Carrie being parted out into 7 garbage bags.

Detective Brian Edwards Affidavit

Two Memorandum's in November Lori states she did not see blood on Vincent Doan.

In Lori Baker‘s testimony when asked if Diana asked her if she seen blood on Vincent, Lori said no she did not see any blood on Vincent.

What changed from Lori’s original statements?
How many times did Lori Baker get told she was going to go to prison like Payton did before she testified?

Lori Baker’s Trial Testimony

The tone Lori Baker took here was coming from an angry woman who was mad over her husband having an affair. Tracey had been having an affair with another woman during the year of 1996. This was not true Vincent did not have an affair with Lori.

Lori Baker Trial Testimony

Lori Baker Trial Testimony

Lori talks about the Wiccan religion. What’s odd here is the original time Lori stated Vincent was at her home was between 2:30 am and 2:45 am. This time later changed to the exact time of 3:15 am which is the witches hour. Coincidence?
