2004 Three Informants tipped investigator’s that Carrie remains were buried under a barn on Fayetteville Blan Road in Brown County, Ohio. The barn was built in 1996. The news reports only two informants.
6-11-04 Affidavit and Search warrant was filed. Investigator Mark Penn states he believes there is evidence of a body hidden on said property.
The informants took Investigator Penn to this location and advised that the body of the deceased has been buried on the residence.
4-28-04 A search warrant extension was filed to search for the remains of Carrie Culberson.
Holes were drilled in the concrete floor, probes were inserted in the holes. A cadaver sniffing dog gave indication at an area in the barn/garage building and lean-to shed attached. Five Cadaver dogs were brought to this area all having interests in the same areas.
11-19-07 The deposition of Mark Penn, the lead detective in the search, states he and Lieutenant Robert Evans had been talking about this case prior to the execution of the search warrant. He had been talking to one of the drug agents for Clermont County.
Several items were found buried under the barn and lean-to in the area where all dogs had interests in.
6-11-04 The Search Warrant Return states a black plastic bag, Elastic band for clothing, yellow tank top with black trim with smiley face, sock, Duct tape was found buried deep in the ground. Debbie Culberson, Roger Culberson, and Christina Culberson were walked down to the area of the dig and was shown these items. All three identified the smiley face shirt as being Carrie’s. Debbie Culberson states to channel 12 news that this particular shirt was worn by Carrie a week before she disappeared. She left in the shirt and came home in a different shirt. Debbie also states it was actually Christina’s shirt that Carrie had borrowed it from her.
5-12-04 Cincinnati Enquirer states Debbie Culberson placed a rose in the four-foot hole where a trio of Culberson’s identified a piece of clothing belonging to Carrie. “We know something of Carrie’s was here we just feel Carrie’s presence here” Debbie said. The scene inside the pole barn and adjacent lean-to was like a funeral said John Dunn. John Dunn said in his opinion there was a body there at one time. There are bodily fluids these dogs detected, and they got there somehow. Dunn also stated police are following new leads since the search began some of the information is credible and it's possible the information could produce more clues and possibly another site to search for Carrie’s remains.
5-28-04 Cincinnati Enquirer states authorities on Thursday said they had interviewed nearly two dozen people including some possible suspects during the search for Culberson’s remains. Debbie Culberson said she was surprised to hear how many people had been interviewed. It just gives us hope that this is going to lead us to Carrie.
The concrete floor was poured in the pole barn, just days after Carrie’s disappearance. Authorities said the concrete had not been disturbed.

Investigator Penn states he met with an informant that told him he was paid money for a backhoe that was used to bury Carrie’s body. This informant took him to the Brown County property that was searched.
This deposition states a Wilmington Police Officer was told by “blank” he was paid $30,000 to bury Carrie’s body and her body had been placed with two other bodies.

Here Investigator's questioned about the smiley faced shirt that was found buried. He states the shirt was totally destroyed shortly after being taken out from deteriorating.
Detective Brian Edwards states in this news article that Debbie Culberson requested to see the shirt some time later after the search was done. After seeing the shirt Debbie stated it was not Carrie's. Which in a deposition the investigator said was completely destroyed from deteriorating shortly after. That would have made it impossible to identify as Detective Edwards said.

NOTE: This was a shirt Carrie was wearing a week before she disappeared. Vincent Doan had no reason to bury this particular shirt it was not what she was wearing the night she disappeared.
American Justice aired a documentary on this case. At the end of the show Vincent's Mother pointed out this barn, stating due to the information they had been receiving this barn needed to be searched.
Not until after the barn burned down and months after American Justice aired the documentary did the authorities think important information could have been here.
