Mrs. Brown was a neighbor who lived across the street from Vincent Doan. On the late evening of August 28th Mrs. Brown had been working at UDF in Blanchester, she got off work around 11:45 and walked home with a broken leg. She lived a few blocks away, which would have had her home approximately at 12:00 am.
Mrs. Brown hears an argument outside her window between 12:30 and 1:00 am. she then witnesses a male and female fighting. She left her window to wake her husband up, while doing so she heard a car squeal away.
Mrs. Brown trial testimony was different from her handwritten statement she made a couple days after Carrie disappeared. In fact, Mrs. Brown handwritten statement was withheld from the trial. Vincent was found guilty of kidnapping from Mrs. Brown's testimony.
The incident she sees outside her window could not have been Vincent, there is phone records proving he was in Marathon Ohio at the time it occurred.
Mrs. Brown was shown a photo lineup and could not identify Vincent as the male she seen.
Mrs. Brown states here the female was wearing a light color t-shirt and jeans, not what Carrie was wearing when she disappeared. During the trial Mrs. Brown testified to not remembering what the female was wearing.
Mrs. Brown states the male was wearing a ball hat t-shirt and jeans. During the trial she stated the male had on a muscle shirt and shorts.
Mrs. Brown also states here this incident happened either Tuesday or Wednesday
Mrs. Brown states here that the male told the female " NEXT TIME I WILL KILL YOU"
During the trial Mrs. Brown testified the male told the female "I TOLD YOU NEXT TIME I'D KILL YOU"
Two very different meanings.
Mrs. Brown states here that the black car she claimed to be Vincent's parked in front of Vincent's house was gone a half an hour later after the incident she witnessed.
This shows the phone call Vincent made to his dad at 1:00 am. in Marathon Ohio the same time Mrs. Brown was witnessing the incident outside her window. Jeff Warren who lived at the residence Vince called from testified Vince left his home about 1:15 am.
This affidavit from Officer Nichols states a third car possibly involved. In Mrs. Brown statement she said Vincent’s car was in front of his house. Carrie’s friends statements say Vincent’s car is in his driveway not on the street. Mrs. Brown states she heard a car squeal away and when she went back to her window the red car was gone and a half an hour later the black car on the street was gone.
Here Officer Nichols states Mrs. Brown could not positively identify the person fighting in her yard that night.
