Clinton County Detective Brian Edwards

1987 Brian Edwards was a patrolman for the Blanchester Police Department. Edwards superior recommended disciplinary actions against him.  Chief Richard Payton suspended Edwards from the Blanchester Police Department, this information was withheld from the trial. 

Not long afterwards Clinton County hired Brian Edwards and when the Culberson case came in front of them Detective Brian Edwards was put in charge. 


Detective Brian Edwards, not at the junkyard the day of the search called the day after to tell Officer Dan Nichols who was at the search the dog had hit at the junkyard. 


Detective Brian Edwards Testifies HE formed an OPINION something had been in the junkyard pond.


Detective Brian Edwards in a news article states Ms. Culberson came to his office wanting to visually see the smiley face shirt found at the dig in 2004, Edwards states after Ms. Culberson seen the shirt she said it was not Carrie's shirt after all. Depositions taken from the dig states lead investigator said the shirt was completely destroyed from deteriorating shortly after it was brought up. So, there was no possible way Ms. Culberson seen the actual shirt.
